Curtis "Ketch" Hochstetler, a proud Christian American patriot and devoted family man, passed away on December 18, 2025, in Wasilla, Alaska. Born in Bremen, Indiana, Curtis embraced a life of service, faith, and adventure that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Curtis dedicated 24 years of his life to the United States Air Force, where he served as an Aerospace Propulsion Craftsman and attained the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSGT), pay grade E-6. His career was marked by commitment and excellence, including deployment to Qatar during Operation Enduring Freedom. Curtis took great pride in his role in humanitarian missions, often sharing stories of the lives touched by these efforts. His service exemplified his deep love for his country and his unwavering dedication to helping others.
A devout Christian, Curtis lived his faith daily through prayer, scripture reading, and acts of generosity. He found joy in tithing to small churches and supporting their missions. His steadfast belief in God guided him throughout his life and provided comfort to those around him.
Curtis was also a survivalist with a profound love for the outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent hiking into the woods with nothing but coffee and books in hand. These quiet times surrounded by nature reflected his adventurous spirit and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
