Curtis Reid

Curtis Moore "Curt" Reid, 57, passed away at home on February 26, 2026, in Nokomis, Florida. Born on January 14, 1969, in Ogdensburg, New York, Curt lived a life filled with love for his family, friends, animals, and the great outdoors.

Curt grew up in Ogdensburg, NY. He spoke often of playing hockey and his adventures along the St. Lawrence River. He eventually settled in the hills of southeast Ohio where he had many friends and built a business.
The warmth and sunshine of SW Florida called and Curt spent his final years enjoying life in Nokomis.

Curt was the former co-owner of Good Earth Cabins, where he poured his dedication and hard work into creating memorable experiences for others. Known for his loyalty and humor, Curt was a cherished friend to many and always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved animals and spent many years rescuing injured and abandoned pets and wildlife. His passion for nature was evident in his love of mushroom hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods. An avid outdoorsman, Curt found joy and peace in nature's beauty. He also enjoyed playing pool, woodworking, and cooking, sharing his talents with those around him.

Family was at the center of Curt's life. He is survived by his life partner of 26 years, Fonda Wood; his daughter Brooke Reid; step-sons Jesse Tobe and Cody Tobe; grandchildren Briar Mash, Bristol Mash, Brighton Mash; and ten additional grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. Curt is also survived by his brothers John C. Reid, Joel Reid, and Stephen Pritchard; his sister Stacie Reid Davisson; nephew Tylor Reid; and two additional nephews; and four nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents, Eleanor Reid and John Reid.

Curt's legacy is one of love for family and friends, a deep connection to nature, animals, and a spirit that brought laughter and warmth to all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 2, 2026, from 01:00 PM to 05:00 PM at VFW Post 7941 3301 Northup Ave South Bloomfield, OH 43103. Please join us for an open house to honor Curt.
