Curtis Wayne Simmons, 75, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Curtis was born on November 7, 1950, and lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and service to others. A devoted man of God, he found peace and strength in his faith, often spending time sitting by the river reading his Bible. His steady presence, compassionate heart, and wise counsel made him someone others could always turn to—for a listening ear, thoughtful advice, or a helping hand.
Curtis dedicated 30 years of hard work to Caterpillar Inc. before enjoying his retirement. Beyond his career, he was deeply involved in his community, proudly participating in both the Freemasons and the Shriners International. He was also an avid member of the Fox Valley Kickers Club, where he built lasting friendships and shared many joyful moments.
Above all else, Curtis loved his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by those he loved.
He is survived by his children, Jeffery (Roxana) Simmons, Jacob (Pam) Simmons, and Amber Simmons; his grandchildren, John Jr., Kaylie, and Reagan; his great-grandchildren, Evalyn, Johnny, and Sophia; and his sister, Karen, along with a niece, Kya and nephews, Daniel and Chad, and many good friends, he considered to be family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Barbara Simmons, and his stepmother, Marlene.
Services will be held on April 18, 2026. Visitation will take place at First Baptist Church, located at 299 W. Galena Blvd in Aurora, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. A luncheon will be held at the Fox Valley Kickers Club, 1015 Harvey Road in Oswego, Illinois immediately following the service.
Curtis will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his generous spirit, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His legacy of love, guidance, and compassion will live on in all who knew him.
