Cynthia "Cindy" M. Dorr (née Hilsher), 68, of Glenmoore, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 1, 2026. She is now at home with Jesus after enduring many years of health complications.
Born on April 5, 1957, in Williamsport, PA, Cindy was the beloved daughter of the late Jacqueline Fleisher (née Szybist) and the late John Hilsher Jr. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1975.
As a newlywed, Cindy settled in Chester County to start a family. Over the last 50 years, her life was dedicated to family, friends, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was generous with her time and her love. Early on, she enjoyed crafting, cross-stitching, ceramics and chatting with friends. She was always eager for a trip to a card shop to pick out "just the right one." Later, even despite physical limitations, she volunteered at Vacation Bible School, Children's Ministry, and Community Bible Study. Throughout her life, she never lost the desire to chat on the phone, share a visit, or send a card to maintain her relationships of those she held dear. The anchor for her life was her faith and strength in Jesus. Her smile, warmth, and love will be deeply missed. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her greatest desire was that everyone would know how much Jesus loves you.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Richard Dorr. She was a proud and loving mother to her four children: Brian Dorr and his wife Lindsay; Carolyn Dorr; Steven Dorr and his wife Ny; and Kristin Craig and her husband Wes. Cindy's legacy lives on through her twelve grandchildren: Braden, Morgan, and Austin Dorr; Matthias and Lydia Dorr; and William, Warren, Walker, Waylon, Kelvie, Wyatt, and Wheeler Craig. Affectionately known as "Winky" by her grandchildren, she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Stephanie Jackson and Jayme Sherman; her stepbrother, Douglas Fleisher; her stepsister, Tammy Wadsworth; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, Cindy was predeceased by her brother, John Hilsher III, her stepmother Sally Hilsher, and her stepfather James Fleisher.
A visitation will be held on April 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Calvary Chapel Chester Springs, 217 Dowlin Forge Road, Exton, PA. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location. Live streaming of the service will be available at cc-chestersprings.com/live-stream.
