Cynthia Rae Keese, lovingly known as Cindy, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, in Ankeny, Iowa, at the age of 68. Born on May 14, 1957, in Belmond, Iowa, Cindy was the cherished daughter of Kay and Ronald Karsjens.

Cindy’s life was a testament to her deep faith and love for others. Her greatest joy was sharing her faith in Jesus Christ with everyone she encountered. She lived with the goal of bringing others to salvation and found immense peace in prayer and worship. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior.

Cindy married the love of her life, Jon Keese, and together they built a beautiful family. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Katy (Daniel) Strohm and Molly (Matthew) Vanden Top. Cindy adored her six grandchildren—Julia, Justice, Emma, Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Garrett—and treasured every moment spent with them. She also leaves behind her beloved mother, Kay Karsjens; her sister Susan (Dan) Brozik; her brother Tim Karsjens; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by her kindness. Cindy was predeceased by her father Ronald Karsjens and all of her paternal and maternal grandparents, including many aunts, and uncles.

Cindy found joy in gardening, golfing, sewing, cooking, crafting, traveling, and savoring simple pleasures like coffee and chapstick. Her home was a haven of hospitality where friends and family were always welcomed with warmth. Cindy’s vibrant personality, spirited sense of humor, and spunky determination left an indelible mark on those who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday February 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Attivo Trail, Celebration Room, 835 NE Boston Pkwy, Waukee, Iowa, 50263.

Cindy’s memory will forever remain a source of comfort for those who knew her. May we find peace in knowing she is now face to face with Jesus Christ her Savior.
