Cynthia Rose Tunberg, age 59, of Avon, IN, passed away on September 6, 2025. Born on June 29, 1966, she was a beacon of love and compassion, cherished by all who knew her.
Cynthia's journey was marked by her deep commitment to her family, and friends, a passion she balanced beautifully with her professional and personal interests. Early in her career, she worked for Business Express Airlines, where she met her beloved husband, Chris. After choosing to focus on raising their children, she later courageously battled breast cancer, an experience that propelled her to earn a Medical Assistant degree from Kaplan College. She dedicated seven years to supporting others as a part of the breast cancer clinic team at I.U. Hospital, sharing her personal insights and compassion with patients.
A master gardener and a skilled cook, Cynthia's love for plants, flowers, and culinary arts filled her home and community with beauty and warmth. She held a Wilson cake decorating certificate, which showcased her artistic flair and attention to detail. Her hobbies also included decorating and staying active, always surrounded by family and friends.
Cynthia worshiped and was married at St. Nicholas Church, and held a deep belief in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior
She leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Chris, her children Zachary and Aubrey and son in law Nils Hay and her sisters Mary, Diane, and Dawn and her father Fred. She was preceded in death by her sister Stephanie and her mother Mary Bargnesi.
Cynthia's life was a profound testimony to the power of resilience and the depth of familial love. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication to helping others will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
