Cyrus "Rus" Ashbrook, 69, passed away on December 25, 2025, in Crossville, Tennessee. Born on October 3, 1956, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, Rus lived a full and vibrant life enriched by family, nature, music, and motorsports.

A graduate of East Henderson High School in Hendersonville, Rus went on to earn an associate's degree in chemical engineering from AB Tech in Asheville. He brought his practical knowledge and thoughtful curiosity into every endeavor he pursued.

Rus shared a loving marriage with his wife, Linda Ashbrook. He was a devoted father to Cyrus B. Ashbrook (Whitney) and Allison L. Carr (Shane), and a proud grandfather to three grandchildren who brought him immense joy throughout his life.

He was the beloved son of Lucy Helen Urquhart Ashbrook and the late C.B. Ashbrook. Rus was a caring brother to William "Bill" Ashbrook and the late John Michou Ashbrook. He also held close the memory of his grandparents, Joe and Laura Urquhart.

An avid outdoorsman, Rus found peace on the golf course and happiness on the water with his loyal dog, Daxx by his side. Music was a constant companion—he especially enjoyed listening while boating or traveling with family and friends to see his favorite band perform live.

His passion for NHRA drag racing reflected his love for speed and precision. Whether attending local tracks or national events, Rus embraced the thrill of motorsports with enthusiasm and dedication.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeshore Country Club in Madisonville, KY.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire love and togetherness among those he held most dear.
