Dale Richard Harshfield, 69, passed away on January 6th, 2026.
He was born September 11th, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky to Eugene and Martha (Carver) Harshfield.
Dale was a proud asphalt plant operator and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. In his free time, Dale was an accomplished musician and sportsman. There were few things he enjoyed more than playing his guitar and listening to good blues music. He was a skilled baseball player in his youth, followed by a lifelong love of golfing. Dale was also a devoted sports fan; he loved playing the ponies, was an avid football fan (go Lions!), and took great joy in cheering on the UofL Cardinals any chance he could.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his sister Judy, and his brother James.
He is survived by his children, Melissa Avila, Heather Brown (Darrell), Christopher Harshfield (Grace), and Nicholas Harshfield; eight grandchildren, Christian, Kamryn, Kendyl, Brayden, Cassandra, Lexis, Michael, and Liliana; and a great-grandchild, Alexander.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and no service will be held.
