Dale Lee Hickson

Dale Hickson, age 91, of Lake Orion, MI, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 20, 1934 in Hazel Park, MI to Gertrude and Byron Hickson. Dale grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and curiosity that would define his life. He graduated from St. Clair County Community College with a degree in Electronics Technology and served in the Army from 1957-1959. After leaving the Army, he married Doris Edmonson on December 31,1959. They were happily married until Doris passed away on January 4, 2020. Dale started working at a very young age at his father's slaughterhouse in Sandusky, MI. He sold farm equipment before moving to Lapeer, MI and focusing on the automotive industry. He retired as a plant manager for Camtron Coatings working in automotive painting. Throughout his career he was known for his work ethic, integrity, and dedication.

Above all, Dale was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, and friend. He found his greatest joy in travelling with Doris throughout the US in their camper and was very proud that they travelled to all 50 states. They eventually retired to Casa Grande, AZ. He enjoyed telling stories of the many classic cars he owned. He had a special gift for fixing things, from cars to campers to houses to whatever that day brought.

He is survived by his children Darin (Tanya) Hickson, Lori (Rich) Tirpak, Dyan Smith, and Joel (Libby) Hickson, his 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
