Dale Okpik

Dale Harry Okpik, Sr., a proud Alaska Native and devoted father, passed away on February 15, 2026, in Anchorage, Alaska, at the age of 55. Born on October 14, 1970, in Anchorage, Dale spent his life deeply connected to his roots and community.

Dale served his country with honor as a Sergeant in the United States Army. His military service included deployment to Bosnia, where he demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment. He was honorably discharged after his service, carrying with him the values of discipline and resilience that shaped his life.

Dale had a profound passion for music, which brought joy to those around him. He was also actively involved with the Arctic Slope Regional Corporation and Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corporation, reflecting his dedication to supporting and uplifting his community.

Above all else, Dale cherished his role as a father. He is survived by his son, Dale Harry Okpik Jr., and his daughter, Lauren Alyssa Okpik. He also leaves behind his brother, Gary Okpik. To those who knew him, Dale was not only a father and brother but also a loyal friend whose presence will be deeply missed.
