Damon Leggett Jr., of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on November 27, 2025, in his hometown at the age of 73. Born on March 19, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Damon spent his life deeply rooted in the community where he was born and raised.
A proud veteran, Damon served honorably in the United States Navy. His dedication to service extended beyond his military years as a lifetime member of American Legion Post 241, where he remained actively connected with fellow veterans.
Damon is lovingly remembered by his wife, Carolyn; daughters Angela (Aaron) Brewer and Sheila (Joe) Renfrow; sons Michael (Holley) Leggett and Stephen Kaufman. He was a devoted grandfather to eleven grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren. Two sisters Crystal and Jeanette. Several nieces and nephews. His family was a source of immense pride and joy throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; sister, Cherie; and grandson, Stephen.
Damon's legacy lives on through the generations of family who carry forward his memory. May his life be honored and remembered with gratitude for the love he gave and the service he rendered.
