In Honor of the Extraordinary Dana Patrice Loria
August 24, 1958- February 25, 2026

Dana Loria was an extraordinary individual. Her bravery, grace, determination - combined with an unwavering positive attitude towards life and meeting challenges -- was truly remarkable. We will eternally carry Dana in our hearts. She is dearly loved and deeply missed.

A lifelong resident of Belmont, Massachusetts, Dana graduated from Belmont High School and Mount Ida. A true "Belmontian" she enjoyed walks around Claypit Pond and to the town center; visiting Harvard Square and Boston's Downtown Crossing. She enjoyed fashion, and worked in retail sales, receiving may citations and commendations for her excellence in customer service. She was always smiling, upbeat and professional.

Dana enjoyed many things in life - a good romance novel, the quiet of home, animals, popular culture and action films and mysteries. Travel to Prince Edward Island, Boothbay Harbor, Cape Cod and East Hampton, NY with her sister Alex she enjoyed greatly, as well as her favorite Las Vegas trip with her brother Bob. In her final few years she resided near or with her brother Christopher who assisted with her care in Minnesota. Dedicated and kind, as one dear family friend put it - Dana had a magic twinkle. She had stunning jade green eyes, a free and pure laugh that was filled with joy, and petite hands sweet to hold that hid her incredible strength and iron will. Her smile melted your heart. Dana was insightful and had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh.

Dana was a fearless warrior. In her numerous and arduous cancer battles she never wavered or complained. These were difficult and complex cancer journeys -- along a life that was marked by ongoing health challenges. She never, ever gave up and always fought with dignity and quiet bravery. For most, these health challenges would have been insurmountable, Dana in her inspiring and valiant way persevered, doing so without complaining or losing hope. For those that met her, they will always remember her.

Dana is survived by her sister Alex Loria of East Hampton, NY; her brother Bob, wife Sara and family Isel, Luke, Eliana and Dante of Herndon, VA; her brother Chris and family Madison, Nate and Taylor. We will always love her. She is also lovingly remembered by the Phenix family of Tewksbury, MA; the extended Loria family of Reston, VA and of Madrid, Spain.

She is preceded in death by her parents Joan and Robert Loria of Belmont, MA; her incredibly loving grandparents Eva and Joseph Novitski of Worcester, MA; aunt Barbara, cousin Stephen and Uncle Dick Phenix of Millbury, MA; aunt Marie and uncle John Loria of Reston, VA; aunt Louise Loria Purtell of White Plains, NY. Her favorite black cat "Blue" that was always by her side. May they all surround her with eternal love and the peace she deserves. Donations in her memory are welcome to the American Cancer Society, Massachusetts General Hospital, the ASPCA.
