Daniel Glenn Arquette passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, NV, with his family at his side, on November 25, 2025. He was born on May 10, 1948, in Toledo, to Richard and Charlette Arquette, and raised in Oregon, Ohio.
Daniel graduated from Clay High School in 1966. He married his wife, Virginia, in 1969 and moved to Perrysburg, Ohio, to raise his family. Together, they had six children. Dan worked for the Lion Store for 32 years until the store closed. While his kids were young, Daniel was active in their sports as a coach and fan. He spent several years coaching the Oilers of the Big Gold football program. In 1985, he helped start the South Suburban Girls Softball League, which gave girls their first opportunity to play softball in Northwest Ohio. In 1991, he helped start the Northwest Ohio All-Star High School football game and continued in a leadership role for the next 15 years before passing on the reins to this annual event in 2006. Dan's biggest highlight of working with the All-Star football program was meeting his hero, Ohio State two-time Heisman winner Archie Griffin. During the late 1980s, he was a Perrysburg High School Booster.
Dan loved being a father and was proud to have raised six kids. He was a devoted Detroit Tiger and Ohio State fan and, most recently, a Vegas Golden Knights "misfit". Dan spent hours playing catch, hitting grounders, shooting hoops, and helping each of his kids improve in their sport. Dan loved cutting grass and working in the yard. He was an avid woodworker who made furniture, clocks, and restored anything that was hauled home from the trash. Duct tape, glue, and a few clamps were all he ever needed to make something new again. His family will miss his quick wit and sarcasm.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia, and his brother Richard (Sue), as well as his six children: Michelle, Joseph (Heather), Michael (Anna), Amy (Jeff), Timothy (Angelica), and Christopher (Jessica). Daniel is also survived by his 7 grandchildren: Kelsey, Micah, Aidan, Hannah, Spencer, Willow, and Hawkins.
Services for Dan will be private and held at Saint Rose Parish in Perrysburg, Ohio, in the early summer of 2026, where he will then be laid to rest at the Saint Rose Parish Cemetery.
