Daniel "Chip" H. Burke, Jr., C.N.M.T., 61 of Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, December 22, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Burke was born in Floyd County, GA on August 11, 1956. He was the son of the late Daniel Houston Burke and Betty Lynn Parker Burke Boston and the late Howard Clinton Boston (stepfather). He was predeceased by all.
Mr. Burke graduated from West Rome High School in 1974. He continued his education at Floyd Junior College (now Georgia Highlands College) and furthered his education at Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, AL graduating with a bachelor’s degree in both Biology and Psychology. Mr. Burke advanced his studies at Medical College of Georgia, Augusta and received his certification in Nuclear Medical Technology. Following graduation, he moved to Pensacola, FL and began an almost 30 year career at Baptist Hospital.
He enjoyed, sailing, spending time at the beach with friends, watching University of Georgia Football (Go Dawgs!) and watching MASH. He was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include two siblings; Barry L. Burke, Sr., of Edgemoor, SC, Elizabeth Burke DeBarr of Burlington Township, NJ, one niece, Christy Burke of Gastonia, NC, two nephews; Barry L. Burke, Jr. of Edgemoor, SC and Daniel DeBarr of Erie, CO, and one great-nephew; Houston Reign Burke of Edgemoor, SC.
Special friends include David and Kassey Butler, Hal Davenport, Wayne and Michelle Ingram, George Jeffries, Dan B. Scott and Jon Van Surksum.
