Dan is also survived by Mary's children, Erica Pantaliano and her husband, Nic Pantaliano, and Melissa Kieran and her husband, Pat Kieran along with their children, Camilla and Quincy. In addition he leaves behind a group of beloved friends whom he held in the highest regard.
Dan graduated with a Bachelor of Science from MIT in 1972 and a Masters of Science in 1977 from MIT. He earned his certification from the Rolf Institute in Boulder Colorado in 1978. His true passion in life was his career as a rolfer and helping people from all walks of life. He had followers over the decades who sought him out continuously for help with their ailments. He was a true friend and compassionate man to all he met.
He practiced non-stop for 40+ years both in his New York City office or Massachusetts.
His other passion was running. Anyone who knew Dan knew if they could not reach him he was clearly out preparing for the next marathon, 5k, 10k or any other running event he could find. He was quite proud of finishing a half marathon at the age of 76! There were very few days in his life that he did not run, walk or exercise to stay strong and healthy.
He earned the title, Master of Cookies, since he made the most incredible chocolate chip cookies that everyone loved—family, friends, neighbors, clients. His fame was widespread and requests were frequent.
Dan loved being active and was able to remain active until the last 3 months of his life. He loved working in the yard, feeding the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and any little soul who needed food! He was quite proud of training the rabbits in the yard to come and take carrots from his hand. Oh the smiles this brought to him.
One of his fondest recent memories were of his trip to Edinburgh, Scotland and especially the side trip to the Orkney Islands and the Ring of Brodgar.
Dan is at peace now and out of pain. At his request there was no formal service.
We would like for anyone to write and share how they knew Dan or any fond memories of him. I am sure many will be funny.
We are planning a memorial to Dan in April of 2026 (his birthday month and the BOSTON MARATHON that he loved so dearly).. Details will be sent at a later date.
