Dr. Daniel Eugene Dever, D.D.S., M.S., 79, of the Cincinnati area, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Born April 2, 1946, Daniel grew up to become an all-state football player and team captain at Madeira High School before attending The Ohio State University, where he earned his B.S., M.S., and D.D.S. After graduating, he answered his country's call, serving as a Captain in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to The Ohio State University to complete his M.S. in Orthodontics, establishing his practices in Mason, West Chester, and Amelia from 1976 until his retirement in 2020.

Dan was a man with a remarkable zest for life; a licensed private pilot who flew seaplanes and multi-engine aircraft, a certified scuba diver, a passionate downhill skier, a dressage rider, and an avid outdoorsman who fished the Great Lakes and the deep sea, and hunted throughout North America and on safari in Africa. Yet he would say that none of these adventures compared to the life he built alongside the woman he loved.

He met Nancy O'Brien when she was 19 and he was 21. They were married for 55 years. Together they raised two children and are the grandparents to five who carry forth his passion for life and adventure.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy O'Brien Dever; his son Jonathan Tyler Dever (Martha Gerdsen Dever, D.D.S.); his daughter Beth Dever Borden, D.D.S.; five grandchildren: Zachary and Benjamin Dever, Jackson, James, and Caitlyn Borden.

There will be a celebration of Daniel's life on what would have been his 80th birthday, Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 6pm at The Manor House, 7440 S. Mason-Montgomery Road, Mason, OH 45040.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neuroscience Institute for Parkinson's 3113 Bellevue Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.
