Daniel "Dan" Grossman, age 80, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on August 1, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dan lived a full and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, career, and passions.

Dan proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. From January 7, 1966, to December 18, 1968, he was stationed in Alaska with the 19th Aviation Battalion, achieving the rank of E5. His time in the military was a source of pride and shaped his strong sense of discipline and commitment.

After completing his service, Dan embarked on a long and successful career at Starwin Industries. Over the course of more than 35 years with the company, he became known for his hard work and reliability.

Outside of work, Dan found joy in several hobbies that reflected his creativity and precision. He was an avid bowler who achieved the remarkable feat of bowling a perfect game—a testament to his skill and determination. Photography allowed him to capture moments of beauty and significance, while woodworking gave him an outlet for crafting with care and attention to detail.

Dan's family was central to his life. He is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn (Zimmerman) Grossman; his daughter Kendra and son-in-law Joe; and his cherished granddaughter Kaylee. He also leaves behind his sister Karen Birch; nephew Brendan Birch; nieces Melissa Dinsmore, Collette Brooks, Tonya Grossman; nephew Wesley Grossman, Rob Grossman; as well as many other nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

He was predeceased by his parents Herman Grossman and Nancy (Simpkins) Grossman; step-parents Donald and Selena Ritter; siblings Robert (Bob) Grossman and Jacquelyn (Jackie) Grossman; step-sister Donnis Dotson; and step-brother William (Bill) Brooks.

Dan's legacy is one of love for family, dedication to work, and passion for life’s simple joys. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him.

May those who mourn find comfort in their memories of Dan’s remarkable life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 9, 2026 2-4pm at St Henry's Activity Center, 6696 Springboro Pk, Dayton OH 45449.

In lieu of flower a donation can be made to Hospice of Dayton in Dan's name.
