With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Daniel Guillermo Lorenzetti, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who died at the age of 73. A Bridgeport, Connecticut resident of nearly 30 years , Daniel passed away on Monday March 2, 2026 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late Isaac and Nelly (Belsuzarri) Lorenzetti.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he emigrated to the United States in 1965 from Lima, Peru, carrying with him a deep appreciation for culture and food that would define his life.
He was devoted to his wife, Janice, whom he considered the love of his life. Their marriage was filled with laughter, spirited conversation, and deep love. Together, they created a home centered on family and comfort, where the kitchen was always the heart of the action.
His passion for wine, food, and cooking was unmistakable. This love came to life most proudly during his 12 years as the successful owner and operator of Café de la Plage in Westport, Connecticut—an accomplishment he held close to his heart and one that brought joy to countless patrons and friends.
Above all else, his greatest pride was his family. He was the devoted father of three children—Giselle, Daniel, and Kyle—and a loving grandfather to Maxwell, Bennett, Ella, Cecilia, Daniel, Rhett and Charlotte each of whom brought him immense joy. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren along with his mother Nelly Lorenzetti, his sister Victoria Lorenzetti & his brother Frank Lorenzetti.
He was known for his wit, mischievous humor, and love of giving family and friends a hard time—always with a twinkle in his eye. He found humor in life, believed deeply in standing up for what mattered, and never hesitated to fight for his convictions. He loved good music, great meals, and watching sports—often on a delay, and always on his own terms.
His legacy lives on in the stories told around the table, the recipes passed down, the laughter he sparked, and the unwavering love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A private burial with immediate family will be held on Saturday March 14th in Andover, Massachusetts. A Celebration of Life will be held with all of his family and friends on May 2nd in the Bridgeport area.
