Mr. Daniel Robert "Bob" Nicholson, age 87, from Jackson, Georgia, passed away on November 7, 2025, in Conyers, Georgia. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Bob's life was marked by unwavering faith, steadfast integrity, and a deep love for those around him.
Born on February 10, 1938, in Columbus, Georgia, Bob grew up with strong family values that would guide him throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1960. During his military service, he earned numerous awards and achieved his wings from Airborne School—an accomplishment that reflected both his courage and dedication.
Following his military service, Bob began a long and respected career operating heavy equipment before transitioning into truck driving. With over 30 years behind the wheel, he became known for his reliability and work ethic. He retired in 2003 after decades of dedicated service.
Bob was a proud member of the Freemasons and the Shriners of North America—organizations that aligned with his values of brotherhood and community service. In retirement, he found joy in simple pleasures: tending to his yard with care, traveling to new places with loved ones, and spending meaningful time with family and friends.
His Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. Bob's connection with Jesus never wavered; it shaped every decision he made and every relationship he nurtured. Those who knew him were touched by his kindness, strength of character, and unwavering commitment to doing what was right.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Iris; their son David; daughter-in-law Anne; grandson Dylan; and numerous other cherished family members. His legacy lives on through them and through all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his father D.B. Nicholson; mother Jaunita Nicholson; and brother C.B. Nicholson.
Bob's presence brought warmth to every room he entered. His words carried wisdom; his actions spoke volumes about loyalty and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
