Daniel Thomas Pratl

Daniel "Danny" Thomas Pratl, 64, Lebanon, Indiana, passed away suddenly on January 18th, 2026. Born on July 3, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Donald F. Pratl Sr. and Margaret S. McDonald Pratl. Survived by his best friend and wife of 39 years, Cheryl L. Scher Pratl; their children Matthew (Claudia) Maxwell, Michael Maxwell, Danielle (Luke) Athans, Colleen (Matthew) Caputo, and Theresa Pratl; his grandsons Max, Damian, Danny, Aaron, Niko, Jacob, and Tommy; and siblings Don (Rita), Ron (Jocie), Den (Charlotte), Peggy (Dan) Gardner, Rick (Patty), and Rob (Kathy); proud godfather, beloved uncle, great uncle, and friend to many. Dan, a devoted Bulldog, graduated from H.L. Richards High School and went on to build a lifelong career in construction. His strong work ethic and integrity were evident in everything he did. He had a natural instinct to help others and never hesitated to offer his time or support. He was happiest fishing or watching Chicago sports, especially the Cubs, with a Bud in hand and good company nearby. Cremation will take place, with a private family viewing. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, 6:00-9:00 pm at The American Legion, 10739 S. Ridgeland Ave., Chicago Ridge, IL.
