Daniel Lawrence Van Etten, aged 62, of Manitowoc, WI, passed away on April 17, 2026. Born on October 20, 1963, Daniel was known for his robust personality, embodying both the toughness and the tenderness that endeared him to those closest to him.
Daniel graduated from Berkley High School and soon after served his country with distinction in the U.S. Army. He was part of the 6/29th Battalion Field Artillery from 1987 to 1991, stationed at Strassburg Kasserne in Idar Oberstein, Germany. His military service remained a proud part of his life.
Professionally, Daniel worked in telemarketing and later as a contractor, roles that allowed him to engage with many, always leaving a memorable impression through his unique mix of sincerity and humor.
Outside of work, Daniel had a passion for Elvis memorabilia, often seen driving his Cadillac while listening to his favorite tunes from Post Malone. This blend of classic and contemporary interests illustrated his multifaceted personality.
Daniel was a loving father and grandfather, survived by his daughters, Nicole (Scott) Deibert, Tiffany ( Olga) Van Etten - niece, Kelly Van Etten - daughter, his beloved bird Peter; brothers, John Allen, William, and Joseph Van Etten; sister, Tammy Van Etten; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joan Gertcher Van Etten and John Francis Van Etten, and his brother, Jimmy Van Etten.
Daniel's life was marked by his capacity to love deeply, his service to his country, and his enduring charm and wit. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
