Darla Jean Swift

Darla Jean Swift, 70, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on February 18, 2026. Born on June 17, 1955, Darla was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her kindness, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her loved ones and all whose lives she touched.

Darla had a vibrant career that reflected her dedication and versatility. She served as a league coordinator at AMF Island Bowl in Flour Bluff, worked as an office manager for Tom White Auto, and held various contractor roles with the *Caller-Times*. Her energy and determination were evident in every endeavor she undertook.

Darla was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Jones Gatlin; her uncle, Chester Jones; and her aunt, Maureen. She is survived by her spouse, Gail; her daughter, Elizabeth (Josh Farmer); her grandchildren Kaylyn (John Walsh), Blake Sitchler (Bailey), Brandon, Ben (Larissa), and Kathryn Swift-Farmer; her great-grandchildren Jason, Charley, and Sara; her brother Luke Gatlin (Cindy); and her niece Lauren (Calvin Ardies).

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Darla's remarkable journey.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
