Darlene was born in Santa Clara, CA and grew up in Santa Cruz, CA. Her parents are Mary Florine Agee-Dooley and Walter Thomas Dooley both from Missouri. She was the youngest of 3 children, 1 brother & 3 sisters. Darlene was a Christian and loved Jesus with all her heart. As a child she loved to attend Sunday School. When she was a teenager she worked at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. After graduating from Santa Cruz High School in 1957, she married and worked as a Switchboard Telephone Operator. While raising her 3 children she was a Teacher's Aide for Special Needs Children in Newark, CA. She then worked at Macy's as a Customer Service Rep. She retired from Hill's Physicians in San Ramon, CA. where she did Medical Data Entry work. Darlene and her rescued chihuahua "Rico Sauve" went and read with children at the Paws to Read Program in Livermore. She leaves behind two daughters, Jennifer London & Jerry London(husband) of Modesto, CA & Denise Rusher & Brian Rusher(husband) of Newark, CA and her son Lance Austin of Discovery Bay, CA. She has 6 grandchildren: Chad Russel, Brandon Russel, Tiffany Gibbons, Donny Evans, Amber Khors and Ashley Galvin. She also has 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Darlene loved to spend time with her family. She loved to take walks or sit outside on warm sunny days. She loved the USA!
She loved hummingbirds! We will cherish our memories and celebrate her life. We miss her and we will continue to share all the silly stories of our adventures. Until we meet again. We love you so much. Now you are resting in peace.
