Darrin Robert "Woody" Woodmancy, 65, of Hartford, Connecticut, passed away on January 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 25, 1960, in Hartford, to Charles and Nancy (Parent) Woodmancy, Darrin spent his life deeply rooted in the community where he was raised. He proudly served his country after training at the United States Army base at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He went on to serve with distinction in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Following his military service, Darrin pursued a career in construction as a heavy equipment operator with Local 478—a role that was far more than just a job to him. It was a true passion. His dedication and skill earned him not only professional respect but also an enormous circle of friends within the industry who admired his work ethic and camaraderie.
Darrin was known for being a kind, loving, and caring man. He was a devoted husband to his wife Judith and a great father to their two daughters, Rachel and Anna. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them—whether it was on outdoor adventures or quiet times at home.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in fishing, hunting, ATVing, snowmobiling, and taking trips with his family. These activities were not just hobbies but expressions of how he embraced life—fully and enthusiastically.
Darrin is survived by his beloved wife Judith; daughters Rachel and Anna; his mother Nancy Woodmancy; brothers Keith Woodmancy and Chris Woodmancy (and his wife Erin); nieces Amanda Cislak (and her husband Jeramy) and Sora Woodmancy along with two Great Nephews Abel and Levi. Also, close family friend and like a daughter Madison Fago.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles Woodmancy L.A. "Woody", brother Charles Woodmancy and Sister-in-law Joan (Cappa)Woodmancy.
