Dave Trafton

Dave Trafton passed away on March 14, 2026, at the age of 87 in Cary, IL. He was born on January 26, 1939 in New Bedford Massachusetts which led to a lifelong love for Cape Cod and the ocean.

A veteran of the Army, Dave served his country with dedication and pride.

His professional life was distinguished by his role as CEO of Meadows Credit Union, from which he retired in 2002.

Known for his vibrant personality, Dave enjoyed interacting with people from all walks of life.

Dave leaves behind a loving family, including his spouse, Caren Trafton; daughter, Laura Szatkowski; son-in-law, Michael Szatkowski; beloved granddaughter, Jenna Szatkowski; and stepsons, Kevin and Jeffrey Hill. He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Trafton.
His dog, Ted, was a constant and cherished companion.

Dave will be remembered as a one-of-a-kind individual whose legacy will continue to influence and inspire those who knew him.
