David Lee Asbery

1955 - 2026

David Lee Asbery 70, of Olathe, KS peacefully entered the arms of his Savior Christ Jesus, on March 6, 2026.

He was the fourth of six children and everyone’s favorite - kind, humble, and deeply caring, always ready to help those in need. Often described as a Renaissance man, he worked as a machinist for 35 years and could fix anything, possessing many talents and a wide range of knowledge.

Family, friends and neighbors regularly turned to him to repair mowers, cars, and electronics. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, confidant, mentor, teacher, & caretaker – impossible not to like.

The depth to which he will be missed cannot be measured. While we grieve in this life, we take comfort in knowing that he is at home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, with an eternal home in heaven.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Vaughn; sister, Sandra Henderson (Leroy); and his brothers, Charlie (Carol) and Larry Asbery.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Hughes and Sharon Pacheco (Joe); nephews, Charles Ater (son Ryan), AJ Mosser, Larry Asbery Jr. and David Asbery; nieces, Laura Poindexter (Thomas; sons, Deion and Kobe), Ashlyn Garnier (Jonathan), Savannah, Salina, and Danielle Asbery along with their families and many great-nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., May 16th, at Church of the Harvest, 14841 S. Blackbob Rd.; Olathe, KS 66062.
