David Quiñonez Flores (December 11, 1928 - December 21, 2025) passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Duarte, California, at the age of 97.
David was born in Los Angeles, California, to George Flores and Dolores Quiñonez Flores. He was born at his parents' home in the Belvedere district of Los Angeles, where his life story began.
David lived a long life defined by dedication, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family. For 78 years, he stood beside his beloved wife, Lucy Luna Flores, building a life rooted in hard work and devotion. He was a man with a remarkable work ethic who took great pride in supporting his wife and raising their eight children, always placing his family first.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Lucy; his eight children, David, Daniel, Delia, Dolores, Dora, Debra, Diego, and Lucy; 21 grandchildren, including Debra Humphrey, Robert "Bobby" Mercado, and Nadine Montoya, who were constantly by his side; and many cherished great-grandchildren.
David was known for his stern presence and high standards, but those who knew him best also knew his wicked sense of humor. Beneath his firm exterior was a deep love for his family, expressed not always in words but through a lifetime of sacrifice, loyalty, and steadfast support.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who were fortunate enough to call him husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
