David Horwitz, Sr., 77, of Delray Beach, Florida, died peacefully on February 5, 2026.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran; the kind of man shaped by service, structure, and a clear understanding that you show up, you do the job, and you take care of your own. That sense of duty never really left him. It followed him into business, into real estate, into every deal he made, and every promise he kept.
He loved business. He loved real estate. He understood the quiet satisfaction of a smart move, a well-negotiated deal, a solid foundation poured where there had once been only dirt. He believed in creating something tangible. Something lasting.
But titles and careers only tell part of the story. If you asked him how he wanted to be remembered, it wouldn’t be for the properties or the deals he made. It would be for loving his family — fiercely, protectively, without hesitation.
At his core, David was about family - not in a sentimental, Hallmark-card way, but in the real way. The showing-up way. He is survived by his children, David Horwitz Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland and Gina Horwitz of Palm Beach, Florida and by his granddaughter, Aviella Rising, who carried a special light in his life. He is also survived by his former spouse, Maria Horwitz of Palm Beach, Florida.
Per his request, David has been cremated. His ashes will be spread at the South Florida National Cemetery in a private ceremony with immediate family and the United States Air Force Honor Guard; a final salute to a man who served. A celebration of life will follow at a later date, where stories — the good ones, the real ones — will be told.
In the end, that’s what remains anyway. The stories. The people you loved. And the love that outlives you.
