David Joshua Hurd was born April 10th 1954 in Santa Barbara, California. David's many talents and intelligence were recognized at an early age through his scholastic and extracurricular achievements. David attended UC Davis on a tennis scholarship and earned his BA in Economics. David continued his education at California State Sacramento, earning an MBA while also attending and graduating from the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law.
David had an exhaustive list of professional achievements, including:
California Real Estate Broker, Restaurateur, Author and Publisher of The California Employment Survival Handbook, also translated into Spanish. David specialized in civil, employment, and criminal litigation. David retired from the State of California as an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). David also pursued many hobbies, including: Private pilot, audiophile, and photography.
David was a lifelong learner, and a true renaissance man, never fearing a challenge. David was a kind, compassionate, and gentle soul, with a keen sense of wit and humor.
David passed on December 31st, 2024 and is survived by two brothers, Jeff and Tom, along with his longtime wife, Kelly.
