David D. Lyvers, age 66, of Hayden, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 11, 2024. David was an adoring husband, a loyal friend, and a caring uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was also a loving "Dad" to their many furry companions over the years.

David was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-two years, Dawn (nee Schock), and his parents, Donald and Marian McLennan (nee Johnson). He is survived by his siblings, Caren (Michael) and Daniel (Karen), and his cherished friend of 60 years, Robert Schober. David was born in Chicago on September 26, 1958. The Lyvers family moved from the South Side of Chicago to Midlothian in 1974. David graduated from Bremen High School in 1976.

David was a lifelong salesman, making acquaintances wherever he went. He was a larger-than-life character with the "Gift of Gab" and could always be counted on to tell an entertaining story. David took comfort in his faith with Dawn's passing and his own serious health issues. His approach to life was always one of optimism, humor, and gratitude.

Per David's request, a small private cremation service was held. The family asks that you celebrate and honor his life in your own way. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local animal shelter in honor of David and Dawn and their deep commitment to rescuing dogs throughout their lives together.
