David B. Marsden, 61, of Fremont, California, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Born on July 11, 1963, in Fremont, David lived a life defined by intelligence, humor, and kindness.
A proud graduate of Kennedy High School and Ohlone College, where he earned his associate degree, David went on to dedicate forty years to the microwaveable vacuum tube industry as a lead design and electrical engineer. He began his career with Varian Associates in Palo Alto and later contributed greatly to CPI and Calabasas Creek Industries across the Bay Area. His colleagues admired his technical brilliance and commitment, especially through what became known as "The Marsden Project," a lasting mark on his field.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Rhonna Marsden; his cherished daughter, Shannon Marsden; his sister, Rose Ella Vargas; and two loving stepsons. David and Rhonna shared a full life between Fremont, California, and Florence, Oregon, where they enjoyed many peaceful days together.
Per his wishes, David was cremated in 2025, and no service was held. His love, kindness, and humor will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
