David Phillip Martin, 86 of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully Sunday, January 25, 2026 in the Villages, FL. David worked on the railroad with Conrail for 40 years, a career he was proud of and spoke about often. He will be fondly remembered for his gift of gab and the ability to always tell a great story, which brought laughter and connection wherever he went.
After retirement, David enjoyed winters in Florida and summers in New York. One of his greatest pleasures was time spent at his cottage in Clayton, NY, a place he loved deeply and made many cherished memories
David is survived by his two sons, Scott Martin and Todd Martin, both of Florida; two daughters-in-law, Theresa Martin and Debbie Martin; and his beloved grandchildren, six granddaughters, one grandson, and one great-grandson.
David is also survived by his sister Terrie Halliday, several close cousins, and his former wife of 40 years, Sue Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Jane Martin.
