David Thomas McCullough

1942 - 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of David Thomas McCullough Jr. on December 12, 2025.

Dad lived an extraordinary life, always on his own terms. Born on March 2, 1942, he spent his childhood across Texas and Arkansas, where he discovered a lifelong passion for boxing. His dedication to the sport led him to win the Arkansas Golden Gloves Championship twice.

As a teenager, David (Tommy) joined the Arkansas Air National Guard and was deployed to Vietnam. He served his country with honor and courage, earning a Bronze Star, an Army Commendation Medal, as well as a Purple Heart with Valor. After his military service, he pursued higher education and achieved a Juris Doctorate.

Though his professional career was primarily being the tax man, boxing remained his true love. He contributed to the sport as a judge and supervisor, and later as Treasurer of the International Boxing Federation (IBF). The world of boxing brought him immense joy and allowed him to travel the world.

Beyond his professional pursuits, David was devoted to helping others. He was a proud and active member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, embodying the values of service and fellowship.

David will be profoundly missed by his daughters, grandchildren, friends who became family, and the many lives he touched with his kindness, determination, and unwavering spirit.
