David Roderick Robinson-McNeil was born in Selma, Alabama on March 30, 1956, to Dr. David Roderick Robinson, DDS and Mattye Fisher-Robinson, graduates of Howard University and Spellman College.
The family relocated to Los Angeles, where David graduated from Fairfax High School and earned a bachelor's degree in education and music from California State University, Los Angeles. He initially taught Special Education for the Los Angeles Unified School District, then returned to college a year later to study Design and Engineering. David entered the Aerospace Industry, working first for Hughes Corporation, and subsequently dedicating 23 years to Northrop Grumman Satellite and Communications Company.
David's deep appreciation for music was his cherished gift, which he mentored and enjoyed greatly, playing jazz on both acoustic and electric guitar at various Los Angeles clubs. He departed on April 3, 2025, and is survived by his beloved daughter Laura, from his 14-year marriage, along with a loving family and many friends.
A Remembrance Memorial will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Inglewood, 6201 South La Brea, Los Angeles, California.
