David Morgan Wilson, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away quietly on February 17, 2026, at the age of 84, due to complications related to Parkinson's Disease.
Born on December 6, 1941, in Westminster, South Carolina, David was the son of Edwin W. Wilson and Mescal P. Wilson (Massey). He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Barbara Jean Stephens and Betty Ruth Attari.
David proudly served his country in the United States Navy for over 20 years, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. Following his distinguished military career, he continued his commitment to public service through Civil Service employment, working well into his seventies until Parkinson's Disease made retirement necessary.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid reader with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He especially enjoyed fishing and was known—by his own proud admission—as a great fisherman. Those who knew him will remember his dry sense of humor, quick wit, and amiable demeanor.
In keeping with his lifelong spirit of service, David's final selfless act was the donation of his body to Science Care to support scientific research.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cora; his children, David W. Wilson (Stephanie), Lisa Murray (James), Michael Post (Patricia), and Charles Post; along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, all of whom will miss him dearly.
The family is deeply grateful for the many kindnesses, prayers, and support shown during his long illness and in the days surrounding his passing.
