David P. Seeley was born October 5th, 1934 to Graham and Grace Seeley in Schenectady, NY.
David passed away March 6th,2026 at the age of 91. David had an inner strength and determination that stayed with him all of his life. David earned two Bachelor’s Degrees from Union College in Mechanical Engineering and Economics. He enrolled at the University of Buffalo to work on his Master’s in Business. In Buffalo, he met future wife, Elaine. They married in 1961. David and Elaine moved to San Carlos, a suburb in San Diego, CA. David’s career as VP/CFO was very successful. David loved many things. Among his hobbies were photography, 3D Puzzles and Stephen King novels. Hiking was his favorite hobby and he enjoyed planning new hiking challenges with his friends. His greatest achievement was hiking down the Grand Canyon with his son, Eric. After retirement David volunteered and served as. Treasurer for the National Lupus Society. David and Elaine moved to Carlsbad. Then they travelled the world.. Enjoying the history, cultures and artwork of the many places they visited. Most of all, David was a devoted family man. He played an active role in his children' s and grandchildren' s lives. David leaves behind the Love of His Life, Elaine to whom he was happily married to for 64 happy years. David also leaves behind a daughter, Dana Seeley, a son Eric Seeley, his grandchildren Michaela Seeley and Joshua Seeley. He also leaves Sisters-in-Law Gina Esposito, Julie Houghton, brother-in-law Michael Houghton, as well as many nieces and nephews. He always enjoyed our family gatherings. David’s sense of humor, elegance and calming presence will be fondly remembered. A Prayer Service will be held in the Glass Chapel Tuesday, March 31st at 1:30 pm at Mission San Luis Rey. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Shriners Hospital to whom David was forever grateful.
