Dave passed away unexpectedly after a tragic accident on July 27, 2025. His son, along with many loved ones, were by his side as he passed peacefully. David was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on July 16, 1951, to parents Joseph Henry and MaryAnn Elizabeth (Meisel) Shemanski. Dave graduated in 1970 from Carolton high school, Carrolton Michigan. From there he moved to Torch Lake, and Central Lake, Michigan then to Tampa, Florida, where he married Carol Lynn (Frayer) Shemanski. They moved back to Central Lake where their son, Joseph Thomas Shemanski was born. He and his family moved to Petaluma, California, then to Coeur d Alene, and Hayden, Idaho. He spent some time in North Dakota and most recently was residing in Port St Joe, Florida.
Dave was a talented woodworker, builder, and handy man and operated Shemanski Home Improvement and Cal Coast Construction. He loved to play cards and his passion was fishing, especially with his son Joe.
Dave is survived by his son Joeseph Thomas Shemanski; his stepdaughter, Jacquelyn (Josh) Hill; stepson Michael (Jodi) Kassarjian; former wife of 34 years, Carol Lynn Shemanski; Brothers Donald Martin Shemanski (twin), Robert Harry Shemanski (Beth) and sister Kathleen Marie George (Steven); Granddaughter Emily Lynn Shemanski, step grandchildren; Logan and Mason Kassarjian; Sophia and Michael Hill and Lillie and Dallas Johnston. Dave is also survived by his dear nephew James Markey (Elita) and many more nieces and nephews.
Dave was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother James Joseph Shemanski, and his sister Annete Eileen Johnson, also an infant brother Thomas Raymond Shemanski. Dave will be remembered fondly by all who loved him. May he rest in peace.
