David Sweigart, born on August 5, 1944, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 15, 2026, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. He was 81 years old.
David served his country with honor as a member of the United States Navy, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to duty and resilience. His quiet strength and steadfast values shaped the life he built and the relationships he cherished.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally. Together they raised two daughters, Melissa Krawizcki and Jessica Lefever. David’s family also includes his son-in-law, Joe Krawizcki, grandchildren Emily Sweigart, Donovan Lefever, Rhianna Lefever, and Evan Rodgers. Step-Grandchildren, Gracyn and Gavin Krawizcki and Great-Grandson Israel David Whitfield, named in his honor. Each held a special place in his heart and brought him great pride.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ella Sweigart, as well as his niece, Deb Klopp, who passed two days prior to him.
His life was defined not by grand gestures but by quiet acts of loyalty and care that left lasting impressions on those around him. His presence will be deeply missed.
