Dean William Monroe, 82, passed away on August 27, 2025, in Apache Junction, Arizona. Born on December 11, 1942, in Carson City, Michigan, Dean lived a full and vibrant life marked by hard work, deep faith, and an unforgettable sense of humor.

A proud U.S. Marine, Dean served his country with honor before returning home to build a life rooted in service and community. He went on to establish and operate Dean's Electric Service, where he worked as an electrician for many years. Known for his reliability and skill, Dean earned the trust of countless clients and colleagues throughout his career.

Dean was rarely found far from a golf course. Whether chasing birdies or swapping stories with friends old and new, he embraced the game with the same passion he brought to every part of his life. His quick wit and perfectly timed jokes—good or bad—were legendary among those who knew him. He had a gift for lighting up any room like a firecracker and counted nearly everyone he met as a friend.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Debora; his daughters Wendy (Mike) Totoris, Michelle Hannay (Kurt Baughman), Lori (Derek) Feier, and Denise Monroe—affectionately known as the infamous Monroe sisters; his step-sons Ryan and Chad Wagner; his brothers Dale, Doug, Bill Kaloz, Richard, James, Edward, and Tim; and his sisters Janet, Ruth, Joy, and Allison. Dean also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and more than 16 great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of laughter and love. Numerous nieces and nephews also mourn his passing.

Dean was preceded in death by his beloved son Cory Alan Monroe; his mother LaVera Gem (Gardner) Clark; his father Addison "Bill" Monroe; and his brothers Don, Bradley, and Addison "Pete", son in-law Steve Hannay and daughter in-law Cathy Wainwright

A man of deep faith, Dean looked forward to the resurrection with confidence that he would be reunited with loved ones once again. In keeping with his wishes—and true to form—he asked that no traditional mourning take place. Instead, he encouraged all who remember him to smile when they hear his name and simply say: "That Dean—he was a good old fart."

May the memory of Dean William Monroe bring comfort to all who knew him and joy to those who recall the laughter he so freely gave.
