Deania Lynn Saylor Meyer

Deania Lynn Saylor Meyer, 68, of Lexington, went to be with her Heavenly Father, surrounded by loved ones, at her home Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026. Deania was born in Danville, Kentucky, to the late William Andrew Saylor and Vivian Louise Cummins Saylor on Nov. 26, 1957. Deania also was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome "Jerry" Meyer III; brother, William Michael Saylor; and several aunts and uncles. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Zena (Gary) Armstrong; sister, Kimberly Saylor (Edward) Brannock; aunts Lula Marie Strahm, Ruby Jo (Joe) Lubarsky and Ina Cummins; an uncle, Garlan (Rachel) Cummins; niece, Tracy (Brad) Penticuff; a great-niece, Ali Grace Penticuff; a host of cousins, and her loving cats, George and Sophie. Deania loved all animals and had many special dogs and cats over her lifetime. She was very creative and loved doing various crafts. Before retiring, Deania worked for many years for the General Telephone and Electronics (GTE) Co., and Hancock Fabrics, both in Lexington. Deania was a member of the Eastland Park Church of the Nazarene, 1605 Jennifer Road, Lexington. The church will hold a memorial for Deania on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at 2 p.m., and visitation before the service at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you can honor Deania with a donation to Bluegrass Care Navigators, Eastland Park Church of the Nazarene or your local Humane Society.
