Debbie (King) Parsons, age 72 of Windham ME, died at home on March 28 with the singing of her beloved bird drifting through the window, her cat Autumn snuggled behind her knee, and her stepchildren, Nicole (Davis) Gordon and Danny Sciacca by her side.
Debbie spent her last months lovingly crocheting unique memory blankets for her grandchildren, Carson and Luke Davis of Oxford, ME and Natalya Sciacca of Dedham, ME. Being a Nana was one of the great joys of her life. The kid's eyes lit up when they knew they were going to Nana's house.
Her nieces and nephew, Chelsea, Erin, Sarah & Travis have sparkly memories of their Auntie. Between her clothing, crafts, and laughter, something was always catching the light and making them grin and cherish their time with her. Auntie Debbie frequently joined the kids at the Great East Lake cottage where they would crowd around, admire her sparking finger nails, and help her make crafts or play games.
Her last days were filled with the company of long-loved friends, Sue, Lisa, Bev & Tom, daughter in law, Brie Sciacca, and her sisters Sheree King of Makanda, IL and Cindy Courtney of Dunbarton, NH They laughed and cried together while sharing Debbie stories. Debbie saw life as a series of lessons to be learned and she freely shared her support and wisdom with those she loved.
Debbie grew up in North Reading MA and is the oldest daughter of the late Jack & Joan (Parsons) King. She became an invaluable administrative assistant to those she worked for because of her maticulous attention to detail. As much as she loved her jobs, she loved retirement more and the quiet joy that decorating her home provided her.
Debbie is remembered for being the person we could all go to to bounce ideas off of, travel with (she loved her trips to Tahoe and Florida!), and laugh with. Her soul has soared but will be sorely missed by those who loved her dearly.
Services for Debbie will be announced.
