Debra Ann Colgan, age 69, of Enfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 26, 1956, in Manhasset, New York.

Debbie was raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1975. She proudly served as a member of the Army National Guard from 1976 to 1988, demonstrating a strong sense of dedication and service to her country.

Debbie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She made her home in Enfield, where she built a life deeply rooted in family and the people she loved most. Known for her strength, resilience, and kindness, Debbie was always willing to help anyone in need and never hesitated to speak her mind. She had a big heart and an even bigger personality.

Debbie had a special love for animals, especially her cats and her loyal pug, Alfred. She enjoyed shopping and took pride in finding a good deal. She also loved taking bus trips to the casino, always looking forward to the excitement—and especially the casino buffet. These simple joys brought her great happiness and many cherished memories.

She spent many years serving the residents of Enfield at Denny's. She always knew now to put people at ease and make you laugh.

She is survived by her sons, Brendan Colgan and his wife, Maggie Turcotte; Kevin Colgan; and Sean Colgan. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Daniel Brody Colgan, Aiden Brody Colgan, and Kerra Colgan who brought her immense joy and light into her life.

Debbie is also survived by brother, Kevin Colgan and her sister, Colleen Borgesano and her husband, Pat. She leaves behind four beloved nieces—Stephanie Prater, Stacey Law, Jennifer Simonds, and Samantha Sunthorn—along with their families, including nine cherished great-nieces and nephews, a great great niece, a great great nephew and many cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, John Leo Colgan, and her mother, Katherine Gloria Colgan (Hagan).

Debbie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all whose lives she touched.

The family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 2:00pm , at the American Legion, 566 Enfield Street, Enfield, CT 06082. The gathering will take place in the lower hall, located around the back of the building.
