Debra Lynn Hurst

Debra Lynn Hurst, aged 72, passed away on April 6, 2026, in Placeville, CA. Born on June 22, 1953, Debbie, as she was affectionately known, lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and a zest for community involvement.
Debbie graduated from Hogan High School in 1971 and built a fulfilling career that began at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in the 1980s, where she formed many lasting friendships. She later retired from Kaiser Permanente, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and camaraderie.
An active member of her community, Debbie was deeply involved in her places of worship, Wayside United Methodist Church in Vallejo and Napa United Methodist Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her in her numerous charitable endeavors, including volunteering at the El Dorado County Animal Shelter and participating in the Dogwood Gardening Club in Pollock Pines, CA.
Debbie's hobbies included playing softball, rowing whaleboats, and indulging her love for music, reading, and animals. These activities were a reflection of her vibrant spirit and her commitment to spending quality time with friends and family.
She leaves behind her husband, Ron Hurst; son, Vincent Udell; daughter-in-law, Sarah Udell; siblings, Dianne Mahler, Daunna Ingram-Harris, and David Ingram; along with many other loving family members. Debbie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Shirley Douse; parents, Carol and Verne Ingram; and daughter, Michelle Hurst-Pimentel.
A celebration of Debbie's life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 11 am at Napa United Methodist Church in Napa, CA. In honoring her love for animals, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local animal shelter.
