Debra Shapiro Tolleson, a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14th, at the age of 72, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Debra was born on February 24, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas to Marvin L. Shapiro and Armel Lee Hood Shapiro. She grew up around Texas, and graduated from Texas A&M University.
Debra was a dedicated mother to her two children, Chad and Chase. She was known for her unwavering love for her family, frequently putting their immediate needs before her own. She was a kind and caring person, willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Debra was known for her green thumb, and her plant collection was unparalleled. She was a lover of nature and the outdoors, enjoying swimming, gardening, and spending time with her family in the forest. She had a sharp sense of humor and was always ready with a joke or witty observation to lighten the mood.
Debra is survived by her children, and their families: Chad, Jessica, and Reuben Tolleson & Chase and Wyatt Tolleson… Brody the dog too. She is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
Debra will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, generosity, and love for life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life will occur in early June. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to “Scottish Rite for Children”. Go plant something too!
