Delfin Raymond Chavez, 77, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025. Born on December 20, 1947, to Eusebio and Cipriana Chavez, Delfin lived a life filled with music, faith, and service.

A proud veteran, Delfin served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Beyond his military service, he was best known for his sense of humor and as an accomplished guitarist whose talent and passion brought joy to countless family gatherings, community events, and friends throughout his life. His music was not only a gift but a legacy that continues to resonate with those who knew him.

Delfin was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church, where his faith guided him and sustained him through life's challenges. He cherished his family deeply and was a source of strength, humor, and love.

He is survived by his son, Raymond Chavez and wife Renee; grandchildren Jonathan and Alycya; step-granddaughter Kassaundra Sanchez; and sisters Lucy Lueras, Guadalupe Sena, and Rose Aragon. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, and friends who will remember his warmth and generosity. Delfin was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ernesto Chavez; sisters Ernestine Sosa and Tommie Salas; and step-son Johnny Sanchez.

A rosary and funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at St. Edwin Catholic Church in Albuquerque, followed by burial at the Santa Fe National Cemetary. The family invites all who knew Delfin to join in celebrating his life, his music, and the love he shared so freely.
