Della (Ellinoy) Nemer, 99, died peacefully of heart failure on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her residence in Pomona, California.
Della was born in 1926 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the youngest of four children of Samuel and Rebecca Ellinoy. She and high school sweetheart Stan Nemer were married at age 19, following her year of studies at the University of Minnesota and his 2-year service in the U.S. Navy. Della worked to help support Stan's undergraduate and law school education. After the start of his career and birth of the first of their three children, she was a dedicated full-time homemaker and loving mom, while also active in community service organizations. For over a half a century Della and Stan's favorite leisure activity was domestic and international travel.
When all three children were away at college, Della and Stan wintered in southern Florida, eventually residing there year-long. Della continued to enjoy an active lifestyle and warmly welcome guests to their lovely home with her unique flair and grace. At age 88 they moved cross-country to be closer to their children and settle into a senior continuing care community. Wherever she lived throughout her long life, Della was beloved and admired by many relatives and friends for her kindness, sociability, sense of humor, intelligence and charm.
Della is fondly remembered by her husband Stan, son Dave (Ann), daughters Betsy Kreidberg (Roger) and Ronna (Rob Bruce), granddaughters Laura Kreidberg (Andrew Fowler)) and Rachel England, step-grandchildren Elizabeth Grainger and Ross Grainger (Jackie), as well as many extended family members and friends.
In honor of Della's wishes there will be no memorial service. Her family welcomes donations in her memory to favorite charitable organizations.
