Delores Jean Burling

Delores Jean Burling, age 93, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026. Born on June 12, 1932, in Elgin, Illinois, she lived a life defined by faith and family.

Delores was a beloved mom and grandmother. She adored her family and devoted her life to supporting them throughout every stage of life. She was at every basketball game, birthday, and graduation, celebrating their success as if they were her own. Some of her fondest memories were watching her children grow into wonderful parents. She delighted in spoiling her grandchildren with the most profound gifts she could offer — time, attention, and unconditional love. A devout Christian, she demonstrated Christ's love to everyone who met her through her commitment to the church and God. Her calm, steady presence was woven into the fabric of her family's lives. She will be deeply missed.
Delores attended St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Mt. Prospect and later graduated from Arlington High School. She worked in accounting and bookkeeping, and always spoke about how she loved arithmetic. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, where she volunteered generously of her time, including service at the Lutheran Home.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Canada (Carey) and Cheryl Loughman (Steve); her grandchildren, Candice Burling, Ben Donges (Sarah), Elizabeth Loughman, Christopher Loughman (Kara), Kelsey Loughman (Ben Oren), and Michael Loughman; and her great-grandchildren, Aaron, Charlie, Remy, Isabelle, Madeline, and Jack, great-great-grandchildren Ashton and Aurora. She was preceded in death by her sons, Jeffrey Burling and Blake Burling.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Arlington Heights, on April 7th. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. and lunch to follow.
