Denia Phillips

Denia Phillips, 70, passed away suddenly on February 10, 2026, in Carmichael, California. Born on July 27, 1955, in Winsted, Connecticut, Denia lived a life full of love, adventure, and creativity.

Denia was the cherished companion of Russell Arndt for 25 years. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Angelica Herrera and Alejandro Herrera. She maintained a special relationship with their father, Arturo Herrera to create a loving, blended family. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Donald Phillips, George Phillips, Diana Phillips Mabb, and Patti Myers. Denia was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth Ballard and Donald Phillips.

A free-spirited and hardworking individual, Denia had an adventurous soul and a heart full of care for others. She was fiercely loyal and independent, often serving as a mother figure to her siblings. Her children were the center of her world; she prioritized their well-being above all else and approached every challenge with determination and resilience.

Denia’s passions brought joy to those around her. She loved antiquing and crafting—there wasn’t a flea market too far for her to explore in search of treasures. Her talent for home improvement projects and decorating transformed spaces into warm havens filled with charm. Gardening brought her peace, while cooking and baking allowed her to share love through delicious meals. Christmas held a special place in Denia’s heart; she adorned her home with world-class ornaments and celebrated the holiday season with unmatched enthusiasm that extended well beyond December.

In retirement, Denia found fulfillment in selling unique treasures alongside her dear friend Heidi Hansen at Magnolia Antiques in Carmichael. Her creativity and eye for beauty shone through in every piece she curated.

Denia’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and strength. She cared deeply for others—often more than herself—and left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.

A celebration of Denia’s life will be held at a later date in her home state of New York.
