Denise Danielle O’Connell (Dee), age 50 (born December 27, 1974, in Detroit, Michigan), passed away December 16, 2025, due to heart complications in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Denise was the beloved sister of Derrick O’Connell and Heather VanValkenburg. She was Aunt to Jake, Abby, and Ben.
Her very insightful and expressive sense of humor will be sorely missed among her family and select friends. If you were fortunate enough to be called a friend by Dee, then you know what I mean. Dee had the uncanny ability to see things for what they really were and not what all the noise said they were. She could always provide a clearer perspective to provide enlightenment towards a solution. She had a photographic memory which enabled her to see more about a topic, subject or idea than everyone else.
Dee had a soul full of love and she detested injustice in all forms. She was a bridge to all peace-loving peoples and loved all animals.
We will miss you dearly baby sister. This life just isn’t fair. Watch over us and guide us until we meet you there.
