Dennis Bryant Harrell, 74, of North Chesterfield, VA, passed away on December 8, 2025. Born on December 28, 1950, Dennis was known for his vivacious personality and spirited sense of humor. He was a graduate of Southampton High School in Courtland, VA, and Concord University in Athens, WV. where he was a proud member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity. He brought joy and laughter to those around him throughout his life.
Dennis volunteered as part of the Big Brother Big Sister organization of Richmond and was a regular volunteer for
Habitat for Humanity of Richmond.
Dedicated to his family, Dennis was an amazing husband to Beth Shreve Harrell for 52 years. He was a loving father to Kristen Harrell Beazley(Price) his son Josh (Alana) and son Casey (Taylor). His role as Poppy brought him immense joy and cherishing moments with his twelve grandchildren: Elliot, Oliver, Julian, Miles, Fin, Bodie, Austin, Sutton, Pippa, Rourke, Lily, and Wren.
Dennis is survived by his brothers, Larry (Sandy) and Randy (Jennifer), and his sister Pam Harrell Stallings (Gordon), along with his sister-in-law Nancy Harrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leona and Earl, and his brother, Earl Jr.

Dennis regarded his wife's family as an extension of his own - he will be truly missed.
An avid athlete, Dennis enjoyed competitive sports and always loved to win. He created lasting memories making chicken muddle outside in a big iron pot with family and friends just as his dad had done before him.
Water was his passion and he loved boating with his family. Dennis was obsessed with trading boats and trading cars. He loved playing cards with his brother in law Mark always with the hope of winning - no matter what it took!
His competitive spirit was matched only by his generosity and warmth.
A funeral service will be held on January 31 at 11:00 AM at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Dr., Richmond, VA 23235. A reception will follow in the Commons area of the church. Additionally, a Celebration of Life will take place at the Hallsley Clubhouse, 3900 Brightwalton Ra., Midlothian, VA 23112.
Dennis's life was filled with laughter and memories, and he would be honored to be remembered with a smile.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA), honoring Dennis's compassionate spirit and helping others battling this disease.
